Basic adjustments are simple and painless. Dr. Pinkerton will palpate the muscles of your neck, back, and outer legs looking for tight and/or tender areas. These indicate a high level of muscle tension. You will then be asked to alter your breathing, while he maintains gentle contacts on these pressure points. This method allows your body to relax, and for areas of high tension to become balanced with areas of lower tension.
When muscles are effectively balanced, including the intrinsic muscles of the spine, vertebral subluxations are repositioned naturally and with virtually no force. This method of reducing subluxation is both painless and effective, since the body’s own muscles do the work. This procedure addresses and updates a pattern of physiology that is stuck. Stuck physiology results in general symptoms such as: chronically tight muscles, stiff neck and back, and recurring pains. Torticollis, stiffness (even to the point of developing degenerative joint disease and non-inflammatory arthritis), and slow healing after injury are all the result of stuck physiology.

The goal of the treatment is to help your system identify stresses and thoughts that get in the way of your body’s natural tendency toward self- healing.
